Kappa Theta Epsilon Stands Up for Adoption Equality in Georgia
Kappa Theta Epsilon Sorority has released an official statement opposing Georgia Senate Bill 375, called the “Keep Faith in Adoption and Foster Care Act,” which would allow state-funded adoption agencies to deny same-sex couples the opportunity to expand their families.
The Jewel of the South Colony, located in Atlanta, GA, will be actively involved in local efforts to discourage GA legislators from allowing taxpayer-funded organizations to discriminate against LGBT potential parents.
We believe that every child deserves to a loving, supportive home environment. Currently, there are more than 14,000 children in the GA foster care system. This legislation may make it even more challenging for them to find their forever family.
This bill passed the State Senate on Friday, Feb. 23rd. It now heads to the State House for consideration and vote.
